Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
The Pawtucket Red Sox took a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning on Friday night in Durham, but a pair of errors by Jose Iglesias opened the door for 4 unearned runs for the Bulls. Durham earned a series split with the 6-5 win. Ironically, Iglesias, known for his scintillating defense, had 4 hits on the evening. Junichi Tazawa was saddled with the loss to fall to 0-1.
Starter Ross Ohlendorf pitched well enough to get a win, but didn't figure in the decision. Ohlendorf allowed a pair of runs in 6 innings. With the score 5-3 in the eighth, in favor of the PawSox, Jesus Feliciano smashed a bases-clearing, three run triple. Feliciano had 4 hits. The PawSox stranded 16 baserunners. It was the second straight loss for Pawtucket (27-16).
First place Pawtucket heads to Norfolk for a four game series that begins on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Justin Germano (4-2) faces Steve Johnson (1-3).
