Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (24-16) play the finale of a four-game series against the first-place Indianapolis Indians (22-18) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 1-0 win last night, the Pigs have won four straight games and seven of their last eight contests. After finishing 4-4 on the eight-game, West Division road trip, the Pigs are now 3-0 on this eight-game, West Division homestand. In addition, Lehigh Valley has won four straight over Indianapolis... The Indians -- Pittsburgh's top affiliate -- have now dropped four consecutive affairs overall and four to the Pigs. Even so, the Indians remain 8-5 in their last 13 affairs and 15-8 since starting 7-10.
LHP Pat Misch (2-5, 6.15) will start for LHV against LHP Rudy Owens (2-1, 2.25).
Tonight is a Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Coors Light. First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m... Tomorrow, Louisville will come to town.
THREE LITTLE PIGS... SHUTOUTS!:
The Pigs have recorded 3 consecutive shutouts for the first time in LHV history -- and the pitching staff currently own a new franchise record 27.0 consecutive scoreless innings streak (the record was previously 26.0, 6/1/11-6/3/11).
* Prior to this string, the Pigs had recorded back-to-back blankings on 3 prior occasions (6/7/10-6/8/10; 6/1/11-6/2/11; 7/1/11-7/2/11)
YOU ARE GETTING SWEEPY?:
With a win tonight, the Pigs will have their first sweep of a four-game series this season and their first since 7/19/10-7/22/10 @ IND... In fact, LHV hasn't had a four-game sweep at Coca-Cola Park since 7/16/09-7/19/09 vs. ROC (when gas was $2.48 per gallon)!
* Also with a win tonight, the Pigs will be at a new high-water mark of 9 games above .500 (they've been 8 on 4/16 & 5/17)
