Charlotte Knights News Release

(Fort Mill, SC) - The Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, return to Knights Stadium on Thursday, May 24 to open an eight-day homestand against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The two teams are set to play their regularly scheduled four-game series (May 24-27), as well as resume a suspended game from Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

Back on Friday, May 4, the game between the Charlotte Knights and Lehigh Valley IronPigs from Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA was suspended due to inclement weather. The game was halted with two outs in the top of the fourth inning and a runner on second base. The score was tied 3-3 at the time.

Since the Knights do not travel to Lehigh Valley again this season, the two teams will resume and complete the game on Thursday, May 24 at Knights Stadium beginning at 6:15 p.m. That game will be played to nine innings, while the originally scheduled game (which will follow approximately 30 minutes after the final out of game one) will be a seven-inning game. Only one ticket (per person) is needed to gain entrance to Thursday's games.

Fans 21 and older can enjoy Thirsty Thursday T with $1 beers and $1 sodas thanks to Hickory Tavern. Gates are set to open at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday and tickets are available at www.charlotteknights.com, in-person at the Knights Stadium Ticket Office, or by phone at 704-357-8071 (North Carolina), or 803-548-8050 (South Carolina).
