Regina SK ---- This afternoon the Regina Pats announced their captain and assistant captains for the 2005-2006 season.

Nineteen-year-old Sedley product Kyle Deck has been named captain. The 6'1" 201lb defenceman is entering his fourth season with the Pats after being acquired in a trade from Kamloops as a sixteen-year-old. Deck has been named the Pats top defenceman, two seasons in a row.

"The responsibility of wearing the 'C' for the Pats franchise is very tremendous, but we feel Kyle has the makeup and attributes we want to be the captain of the Regina Pats," commented Pats GM Brent Parker.

Nineteen-year-old Regina product Kyle Ross & nineteen-year-old Garrett Festerling have been named assistant captains.

Twenty-year-old Regina native Jordan McGillivray will be the alternate captain during home games, while eighteen-year-old defenceman Derek Reinhart will assume alternate captain duties on the road.

"We are very excited about our leadership core as a whole and expect that they will provide guidance and stability for our young team," added Parker.

The Pats open the season on Friday night in Brandon, before hosting the Wheat Kings in the 620 CKRM Home Opener on Saturday night. Tickets for the 7:00PM start are available at the Brandt Centre Box Office, or by calling 781-9300.
