
Cracknell named captain

Cranbrook, BC - Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club, today announced the club has named 20-year-old Forward Adam Cracknell as Captain of the 2005-2006 team. Cracknell becomes the tenth Captain in the history of the ICE franchise. (John Kachur - 1996-1997, Steve McCarthy - 1998-2000, Mike Green - 1999-2000, Mike Comrie - 2000-2001, Dean Arsene - 2000-2001, Jason Jaffray - 2001-2002, Jarret Stoll - 2001-2002, Colin Sinclair - 2002-2003, Nigel Dawes - 2003-2005).
The Assistant Captains for home games will be Dale Mahovsky, Mike Busto and Ryan Russell. The Assistant Captains for road games will be Mahovsky, Casey Lee and Brett Sutter. WHL rules only allow three players per game to be Assistant Captains.
"We feel best Adam exemplifies what our organization represents on and off the ice. Adam has demonstrated a strong work ethic on the ice and a solid reputation with both his teammates and the community of Cranbrook. All the players selected to wear letters will be expected to lead by example in the dressing room, on the ice and away from the rink," added Chynoweth.
