
Pats Battle Back, But Fall Short in Prince Albert

Prince Albert, Sask. - The Prince Albert Raiders downed the Regina Pats 4-3 on Friday inside the Art Hauser Centre.
With the Raiders leading 4-1 late in the third, the Pats mounted an impressive comeback in the dying minutes with Cole Temple and Tanner Howe finding the back of the net to bring the Pats within one. Brayden Barnett had a breakaway with six seconds left, but Raiders goaltender Chase Coward shut the door to preserve the Prince Albert win.
Corbin Vaughan scored his first career WHL goal back in the first and Ewan Huet made 30 saves for Regina.
The Raiders got goals from Ryder Ritchie, Niall Crocker, Brayden Dube and Sloan Stanick in their victory, snapping a two game skid. Coward made 19 saves for his first win in a Raiders uniform.
The Pats fall to 2-2 on the season, while the Raiders move to 2-2.

THE GOALS
First Period
1-0 Raiders at 5:41 - Ryder Ritchie (2), assisted by Niall Crocker & Aiden Oiring (PP) // Crocker's shot was initially stopped by Huet but the rebound went directly to Ritchie near the goalline and he fired it in the wide open cage to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead.
1-1 Pats at 12:55 - Corbin Vaughan (1), assisted by unassisted (4-on-4) // With the teams playing 4-on-4, Vaughan pinched in and got a shot off deep in the Raiders end that Coward was able to stop, but Vaughan grabbed the loose puck did a quick wraparound and tucked it into the Raiders net to tie the game up at 1-1.
2-1 Raiders at 18:41 - Niall Crocker (1), assisted by Justice Christiansen & Sloan Stanick (PP) // Christiansen's point shot is stopped by Crocker in front of Huet, but he found the loose puck at his feet and turned and fired home the powerplay marker to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead late in the first period.
Second Period
3-1 Team at 12:09 - Brayden Dube (1), unassisted (4-on-4) // Dube had the puck in the Pats' zone and carried it to the right circle where Dube fired a shot bar down from the face-off dot to give the Raiders a two-goal lead at 3-1.
Third Period
4-1 Raiders at 11:04 - Sloan Stanick (1), assisted by Ryder Ritchie & Justice Christiansen // The Raiders broke into the Pats end on a two-on-one and Ritchie fed Stanick for a one-timer that he ripped past Huet to make it 4-1 for the Raiders.
4-2 Pats at 17:11 - Cole Temple (2), assisted by Sam Oremba & Jaxsin Vaughan // Oremba was behind the Raiders net and he fed a pass to Temple who put a backhander past Coward to pull the Pats to within a pair.
4-3 Pats at 18:11 - Tanner Howe (3), assisted by Tye Spencer & Layton Feist // With the net empty, the Pats broke into the Raiders zone where Spencer fed Howe in front and he ripped the puck past Coward to pull the Pats to within one at 4-3.
