Tri-City Americans News Release
Americans at Chiefs
Saturday, September 30 | Spokane, WA | Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena
Start Time: 6:05 p.m. PDT
The Americans and Chiefs will meet for the first time in their 10 game season series.
The Americans went 9-3-0-0 last season against Spokane. All three of the Chiefs victories came in Spokane.
Tri-City split their opening weekend trip in Prince George, falling 9-0 on opening night and then bouncing back with a convincing 6-4 victory on Saturday. Jake Sloan led the Americans as he recorded his first WHL hat trick. Newly acquired defenseman Pasha Bocharov scored twice for his first WHL multi-goal game. Nick Avakyan started in net both games for the Ams.
Spokane won both of their opening weekend games, defeating Kamloops in overtime and earning a 4-1 victory over Everett.
Jake Gudelj will make his first appearance against his former team tonight. He was acquired from the Chiefs in August in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick and a 2026 second-round pick. Gudelj collected two assists in the Ams most recent game.
Defenseman Lukas Dragicevic and goaltender Lukas Matecha have returned from pro camps and are expected to make their season debut with the Americans this weekend in Spokane. Goaltender Eric Kahl and defensemen Jaxen Adam and Kainoah Brankovic have been reassigned to their affiliate clubs.
The Ams will open the home portion of their season schedule next weekend at the Toyota Center. Secure your tickets today at the Toyota Center Box Office or online from Ticketmaster.com!
