
Patriots Sign Former New York Met Mike Kinkade

Bridgewater, NJ- The Three-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of utility player Mike Kinkade.
Kinkade has 222 games of Major League experience with the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has a Major League career .256 batting average with 110 hits, 20 doubles, 13 home runs, and 48 RBI.
Kinkade also has seven seasons of Triple-A experience with the Milwaukee Brewers, the Mets, Orioles, Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, and Florida Marlins organizations.
Kinkade has a minor league career .328 batting average with 1,748 hits, 249 doubles, 40 triples, 91 home runs, and 617 RBI in 944 games.
He spent the beginning of the 2007 season at the Triple-A level in Iowa. In 33 games this season, Kinkade has a .308 batting average with 37 hits, six doubles, seven home runs, and 27 RBI.
"We are excited to have Mike join our team. He is a very strong ballplayer whose Major League time should have a great impact on our team. Mike has succeeded at every level he has played at, and we expect him to be a big part of our second half push for the playoffs," said Patrick McVerry, President/ General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
Kinkade has been activated for Tuesday night's game against the Bridgeport Bluefish at Commerce Bank Ballpark.
