York Revolution News Release
The York Revolution dropped a 4-1 decision to the Long Island Ducks in front of 6,104 fans at Citibank Park in Central Islip, NY on Monday night. The loss drops the first-place Revs to 12-5 in the second half. Long Island, who holds the top spot in the north division, improves to 12-5 with the win.
The game began as a pitcher's dual, with goose eggs strung through the first four and a half innings. York starter Frank Castillo allowed three straight hits to start the game, but came back to retire three-in-a-row to end the first unscathed. He also stranded a runner at second base in the third, and worked out of a fourth inning jam with a called third strike on Jamie Pogue, leaving two in scoring position.
The Ducks got to Castillo in the fifth inning. After two straight singles with one out, P.J. Rose blasted his ninth homer of the season, and third against the Revs, over the wall in right-center, giving Long Island the 3-0 lead. The last two homers surrendered by Castillo have both been hit by Rose, with the other coming July 4 at Long Island.
Ducks starter Lance Davis took a shutout into the seventh, until Jason Aspito went yard to right-center. The solo shot was his seventh longball of the season, and fourth hit in five games at Citibank Park.
Long Island came back to add an insurance run in the eighth, and Danny Graves recorded his league-leading 22nd save.
Davis (5-0) got the win for Long Island, allowing just one earned run on six hits in seven innings. He walked none and struck out eight. The lefty has fanned 33 batters over his last five starts.
Castillo (4-4) took the loss for York, allowing three earned runs on nine hits in six innings of work.

Nate Espy and Greg Brown each had two-hit games for York... the Revs are now 16-26 on the road, and 18-23 against the north division... the Revolution now returns home to open a six-game homestand, beginning Tuesday night against the Camden Riversharks at 7:05...
