Patriots Make It Six in a Row

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters 6-0 in front of 5,008 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.

The Patriots got on the board first in the fifth after Jorge Cortes reached on a double and eventually came around to score on a wild pitch for the 1-0 lead.

Somerset added to their lead in the seventh after James Skelton (3) drove a two run homerun over the right field wall to make the score 3-0.

The Patriots extended the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning on a two-run single by Jeff Baisley and an RBI single by Skelton for the 6-0 final.

Patriots starter Josh Lowey (11-7) picked up the win, pitching seven scoreless innings. Sugar Land starter Cesar Carillo (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing a run in six innings of work.

The 2013 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue on Saturday evening when they take on the Sugar Land Skeeters at 7:05 pm.
