ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have reassigned forward Patrick Maroon to the Admirals. Maroon, who scored one goal in two games for the Ducks after being recalled on Monday, is the reigning CCM/AHL Player of the Week.
Maroon, 24 (4/23/88), has appeared in 11 games for Anaheim this season, scoring two goals (2-02) with 10 penalty minutes (PIM). He appeared in two games with the Ducks after being recalled on Mar. 11, posting one goal and five penalty minutes. He collected his first career NHL goal on Feb. 16 at Nashville, beating Pekka Rinne for the game-tying goal in a 3-2 shootout win.
Maroon has earned 17-1936 points with 113 PIM in 48 AHL games this season. Maroon earned CCM/AHL Player of the Week honors earlier this week after posting four goals and six points in three games last week. He currently ranks second among team leaders in goals and is tied for second in assists and points. In addition, he has scored a team-leading eight power play goals on the season. In 337 career AHL games between Norfolk, Syracuse and Adirondack/Philadelphia, Maroon has scored 109 goals and 264 points with 518 penalty minutes.
Maroon was acquired by Anaheim from Philadelphia with David Laliberte in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on Nov. 21, 2010.
