Pascal Leclaire Recalled By Blue Jackets

Syracuse, NY (December 12, 2002) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled goaltender Pascal Leclaire. Leclaire, 20, appeared in 15 games with Syracuse this season posting a 4-8-1 record, a 3.78 goals against average and .888 save percentage. Last season Leclaire appeared in 45 games with Montreal (QMJHL), with a 15-23-4 record, a 3.29 goals against average and a .895 save percentage. He won a silver medal and was named Top Goaltender as a member of Team Canada at the World Junior Championships. A native of Repentigny, Quebec, Leclaire was Columbus' first pick, 8th overall, in the 2001 Entry Draft. The Crunch conclude a three-game road trip on Friday, December 13 against the Rochester Americans. Game time is set for 7:35 p.m. Crunch action can be heard on SportsRadio 620 with play-by-play announcer Bob McElligott. Syracuse returns home on Saturday, December 14 to host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 7:30 p.m. match-up.
