Bears Sign Jeff Williams
December 12, 2002 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release
HERSHEY â The HERSHEY Bears Hockey Club announced today that they have signed left wing Jeff Williams to a standard American Hockey League players contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Williams was drafted in the seventh round of the 1994 entry draft by the New Jersey Devils. During the 1998-1999 season with Albany, Williams set career highs with 46 goals and 27 assists. Due to the fact that Williams started the 2002 season in Europe, he must clear waivers before playing a game with any American Hockey League team. The waiver period expires on December 16th.
The Bears take on the Norfolk Admirals tomorrow in Norfolk, and return home to face Philadelphia Saturday and Wilkes-Barre / Scranton on Sunday. For tickets call the GIANT Center box office at 534-3911. You can catch all the Bears action on BIG 92.7.
