Padres Win Fourth Straight
May 8, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Padres News Release
The Tucson Padres extended their winning streak to four games after defeating the Albuquerque Isotopes 6-2 Tuesday at Kino Stadium.
The Isotopes struck first in the top of the second on a two-run double by Jesus Flores to left. Tucson scored its first run in the bottom of the fourth when Jonathan Galvez lined a single off the foot of Isotopes starter Sean White. The pitcher attempted to throw out Galvez at first, but the ball sailed up the right field line allowing Brandon Allen to score from first base.
Dean Anna's double hit both first base and the first baseman's glove before finding right field in the fifth inning. Two Padres scored on the hit to give Tucson a 3-2 lead. The Padres added three more runs in the eighth on Galvez's RBI groundout, Rene Rivera's RBI single and Matt Angle's throwing error from right field on the same play to bring home the third run.
Sean O'Sullivan earned the win for Tucson after pitching six innings and allowing only one earned run. He also struck out five batters to bring his season total to 37. Sean White lost his fourth game for Albuquerque, surrendering two earned runs on seven hits.
