Padres Hold Off RedHawks, 8-7

Tucson, Ariz. - Drew Locke hit a grand slam home run in the fourth inning and recorded six RBI in his second straight game, but the Tucson Padres (54-63) scored a sixth inning go-ahead run for an 8-7 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks (52-66) before 2,036 Tuesday night at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Tucson reliever Matt Buschmann (5-4) took the win after dealing two perfect relief innings. RedHawks reliever Douglas Arguello (5-7) allowed one run and two hits over one and two-thirds innings in the losing decision. Tucson closer Brad Brach (6) saved the game with a scoreless ninth inning.
The Padres took an early lead when Eric Patterson belted a solo home run in the first inning for a 1-0 score. Tucson added six runs in the second inning. Guillermo Quiroz drove in two with a single, Steve Tolleson knocked in one with a double, Patterson added two on a triple and Anthony Rizzo drove in one more on a double for a 7-0 Tucson lead.
RedHawks starter Dallas Keuchel lasted two innings, giving up seven runs on six hits with two walks and one strikeout in his second Triple-A game.
The RedHawks started a rally in the fourth inning. Brett Wallace and Chris Johnson walked before a Robinson Cancel single loaded the bases for Drew Locke, who belted a grand slam home run to left field for a 7-4 score.
Oklahoma City added three more runs to tie the game in the fifth inning. Cancel singled in a run before Drew Locke doubled in two more for a 7-7 deadlock.
Tucson took the lead for good in the sixth inning. Quiroz walked and scored on a two-out single from Rizzo for an 8-7 lead.
