RedHawks Continue Trip in Tucson-- The Oklahoma City RedHawks finish an eight-game roadtrip with the final game of a four-game series against the Tucson Padres tonight at 9:00 p.m. CT...The RedHawks are 4-3 in the current road trip, including a 2-2 series split at Las Vegas and a 2-1 series lead in Tucson...OKC is 27-36 in road games during 2011...Oklahoma City enter Wednesday fourth place in the American Southern division, 17.0 games behind first place Round Rock, and 5.0 games behind third place New Orleans...The Tucson Padres are third place in the Pacific Southern division, 15.5 games behind first place Sacramento...
Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- LH J.A. Happ makes his first Minor League start of 2011 tonight, following 22 starts with the Houston Astros (4-14, 6.26 ERA)...Happ's last outing with Houston came August 5 vs. Milwaukee when he allowed six earned runs and seven hits over four innings in a losing decision...The Astros acquired Happ and two other players in exchange for Roy Oswalt and cash July 29, 2010...Happ had a breakout 2009 season, named Sporting News NL Rookie of the Year after posting a 12-4 record and 2.93 ERA in 35G, 23GS...Samuel Deduno (34G, 6GS, 3-3, 3.68) makes the start tonight for Tucson, his fourth consecutive start and seventh in his last eight outings...
Last Game: August 9- Tucson Padres 8, OKC RedHawks 7-- Drew Locke drove in six runs for the second straight game, but the RedHawks fell just short in an 8-7 loss at Tucson before 2,036 Tuesday night at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium...RedHawks starter Dallas Keuchel allowed seven runs and six hits over two innings but did not factor in the decision...Douglas Arguello (5-7) took the relief loss, with one run in 1.2 innings...Mark Buschmann (5-4) picked up the relief win with two perfect frames behind starter Rob Musgrave...Tucson built an early 7-0 lead with a one-run first and six-run second inning...The RedHawks rallied with a four-run fourth, on a Drew Locke grand slam home run, and a three-run fifth inning on a Robinson Cancel RBI single and Locke two-run double...Tucson brought in the game-winning run in the sixth inning with a two-out single from Anthony Rizzo for an 8-7 final...
Sosa Promoted, Wright Optioned to OKC-- Henry Sosa has been selected by the Houston Astros, and will start tonight's game in Phoenix against the Arizona Diamondbacks...Sosa was traded from the Giants to the Astros in the Jeff Keppinger deal on July 19...Sosa made three starts with Double-A Corpus Christi following the trade before a promotion to OKC, where he threw seven shutout innings in his lone start on August 5 at Las Vegas...Wesley Wright made two appearances with Houston during his most recent stint with the club, August 8 vs. Milwaukee (1.0IP, 1H, 1ER, 1BB, 2SO) and August 8 at Arizona (1.0IP, 1H, 0R, 0 BB, 0 SO)...
Slab of "Ribs" for Locke-- Drew Locke has back-to-back six-RBI games, with a total of 14 RBI in the first three games of the current series at Tucson... Locke is 8x14 with 3 HR and 14 RBI in the first three games of the series at Kino Stadium...Entering the series, Locke had a total of 31 RBI in 98 games... Locke has hit home runs in back-to-back games as well, ending a home run drought dating back to June 28...
Hernandez Continues Run-- Anderson Hernandez increased his hitting streak to eight games with a fifth inning double last night...Five of the eight games have been multi-hit games...Hernandez is currently batting .294 with 5 HR and 42 RBI...Hernandez was locked in during the month of July, posting a .353 (30x85) average, and has improved in August with a .439 (18x41) mark...
Van Hekken Hitting Streak Snapped-- RedHawks starting pitcher Andy Van Hekken pinch-hit last night in the third inning to preserve the bench early in the game and hit a fly ball to right field, ending his five-game hitting streak...Van Hekken had increased his streak to five games on Monday with an RBI double during his start against Tucson...
