Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium this Friday, August 12 to open an eight-game homestand against the Las Vegas 51s (Blue Jays affiliate) and the Tucson Padres (Padres affiliate) of the Pacific Southern Division, their lone series against each team this season.
Highlighting the weekend's worth of promotions will be three fireworks extravaganzas, one Purity FAITH NIGHT(r) concert, and "Autism Awareness Night" - a special Autism Society of Middle Tennessee evening at the ballpark during which the Sounds will wear white and purple puzzle-themed specialty jerseys on the field.
The Las Vegas 51s visit Music City for the first time in two years for Friday's 7:05 p.m. homestand opener. Firestone Friday Fireworks will light up the sky following the action on the field. Gates open at 6:05 p.m. The 51s are managed by Marty Brown, a former Sounds player (1988-89) and manager (2001-02).
Saturday's contest at 6:35 p.m. against Las Vegas will be a big night at the ballpark, marking the sixth Purity FAITH NIGHT(r) concert of the season. Britt Nicole will perform a concert on the plaza stage near the first-base entrance at Greer Stadium, beginning at 5:35 pm.
Also on Saturday, the Nashville Sounds will go to bat for the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee and wear white and purple puzzle-themed specialty jerseys during the game. Fans have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction during the game in order to take home a player's jersey right off his back following the contest. Proceeds will benefit the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee. For more information, visit http://www.nashvillesounds.com/wecare.
