
P-Bruins Sign Princeton's Jody Pederson To Ato

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 18th year in the American Hockey League, announced that they have signed defenseman Jody Pederson to an Amateur Tryout Agreement. With the move, the P-Bruins have 26 players on their roster, including 15 forwards, nine defensemen and two goaltenders.
Pederson, 25, joins the P-Bruins after four seasons with the Princeton University Tigers. In 27 games as a senior this season, the defenseman scored 14 points, including three goals and 11 assists, to finish second among team blue-liners in scoring.
Pederson's best offensive year came as a college junior in 2008-09, when the undrafted rookie appeared in a career-best 35 games with personal-highs across the board at five goals, 14 assists and 19 points. In his four seasons from 2006-10, the native of Smithers, British Columbia, scored 12 goals and tallied 46 assists for 58 points, while also compiling 82 penalty minutes in 128 games.
Providence is in action with three road games this weekend, taking on the Lowell Devils on Friday at 7 p.m., the Worcester Sharks on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Hartford Wolf Pack on Sunday at 3 p.m. The P-Bruins are next home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday, March 26 at 7:05 p.m. against the Portland Pirates. It's Visor Night against the Pirates with visors free to the first 2,000 fans in attendance.
