Canadiens Sign Hunter Bishop To A Two-Year Contract

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced that the club has signed free agent forward Hunter Bishop to a two-year contract (2010-2011 and 2011-2012). Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Julien BriseBois also announced that the 'Dogs have signed Bishop to an Amateur Tryout (A.T.O.) contract. Bishop is scheduled to join the team on Monday.

Bishop, 22, played this season with the NCAA Ohio State Buckeyes where he registered 27 points (15 goals, 12 assists) and 22 penalty minutes in 33 games. The native of Fairbanks, Alaska played in 42 games with the Buckeyes in 2008-2009 recording 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) and 18 penalty minutes. From 2005-2008, the 6-foot, 196-pound forward earned 177 points (93 goals, 84 assists) in 140 regular season games with the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL (British Columbia Hockey League).
