Coyotes Sign College Free Agent Lunden To Entry Level Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed forward Josh Lunden to an entry level contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Lunden will report to the Coyotes' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

Lunden, 24, recently completed his senior season with the University of Alaska-Anchorage of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), where he recorded 8-9-17 and 22 penalty minutes (PIM) in 25 games. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound Lunden recorded 47-37-84 and 110 PIM in 126 career games over four seasons and finished as the 17th highest goal-scorer in Alaska-Anchorage history.

In 2007-08, Lunden finished the season as Alaska-Anchorage's top point producer with career highs in goals (14), assists (13), points (27) and PIM (26) in 36 games and earned Team MVP honors. A native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Lunden was named to the WCHA All-Academic Team three times (2008-2010).
