Binghamton Senators News Release
Harrisburg, PA - With Facebook continuing to increase in popularity, the Harrisburg Senators have committed to utilizing the social media site as a fan resource for the 2010 season. The Sens plan to release exclusive offers to Facebook users specifically, starting with the very special opportunity to purchase individual game tickets starting this Wednesday, March 24th, at 10 AM.
Facebook fans can expect opportunities of this type throughout the season, and will also be the first to receive updates on game status, player transactions, and other team and league news. Prospective fans can sign up for free at facebook.com/senatorsbaseball.
The Senators' Facebook page was launched in 2009, and already has over 1400 fans. That means well over a thousand Sens fans will be able to buy tickets three days before they go on sale to the public. With just a few days remaining before the March 24th date, time is running out to receive this first special opportunity from the Senators for being a fan on Facebook. Signing up takes just minutes, costs nothing, and is open to fans of all ages.
Facebook provides a great way for the Senators to connect with fans almost instantaneously when news breaks. Once the Senators know their opening day roster, they plan to post it to Facebook first. If any top prospects join the team mid-season, Facebook fans will know it before anyone else. Facebook users will receive more special opportunities and deals throughout the season. Overall, there is no better way to keep up with everything going on at Metro Bank Park with the Sens than to sign up as a fan of the team on Facebook.
The 2010 home opener in newly renovated Metro Bank Park is Thursday, April 15th at 7:00pm against the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins). The new ballpark adds to a Harrisburg-Hershey minor league market that is ranked as the best in the country by Street & Smith's Sports Business Journal. Season ticket plans and group tickets are available online at www.senatorsbaseball.com or by phoning the Senators at 717-231-4444.
