P-Bruins set for pre-season opener

The Providence Bruins begin their 2004 pre-season slate of games on Wednesday, October 6, when they host their Atlantic Division rivals, the Portland Pirates, at the University of Rhode Island's Bradford R. Boss Arena. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday's game is the first of four pre-season games for the Black and Gold.

As a special benefit for fans in attendance, all Bruin players not dressed for the game will be available for autographs during the first and second intermissions.

The Bruins will travel to Portland for a 7:00 p.m. game against the Pirates on Friday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m.

The Black and Gold concludes the pre-season schedule with a home-and-home series against the Springfield Falcons beginning on Saturday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Olympia Ice Rink in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The teams wrap up the pre-season on Sunday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bridgewater (Massachusetts) Ice Arena.

Tickets for the game at Boss Arena are on sale now at U.R.I.'s Ryan Center (401-788-3250) and at all TicketMaster outlets (401-331-2211 or 508/617-931-2000). For ticket information for the game at Bridgewater, please call (508) 279-0600.

Head coach Scott Gordon and his club kick off the regular season on Friday, October 15 at 7:05 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence.
