Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins begin the week in second place in the Atlantic Division, as they remain unbeaten after four games with their 3-0-1-0 record (7 points). The Bruins tied the Worcester IceCats at home on Friday night, 2-2, before taking a 4-2 decision in Springfield on Saturday. The Bruins are one of just five teams in the 28-team AHL to remain unbeaten through the first two weeks of the new season.
Head coach Scott Gordon's club will play its first three-game weekend of the season this week, as it hosts a "Weekend with the Bruins". For the first time in franchise history, the Black and Gold will play an entire weekend on home ice. The action begins on Friday, October 24 at 7:05 p.m., when the Albany River Rats make their first appearance of the season in the Ocean State. Two Atlantic Division battles follow, as the Bruins host the first place Lowell Lock Monsters on Saturday, October 25 at 7:05 p.m., before concluding the weekend with a matchup against the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m.
