Penguins Reassign Left Wing Matt Murley to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. -The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned left wing Matt Murley to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The announcement was made today by Penguins' General Manager Craig Patrick.

Murley, 23, has played in three games with the Penguins this season, going scoreless with a minus-1 rating.

The 6'1", 206-pound native of Troy, New York made his NHL debut October 10th vs. Los Angeles. He tied for third on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season in scoring with 58 points (21+37) in 73 games.

Murley was drafted by the Penguins in the second round (51st overall) of the 1999 Entry Draft.

The Penguins will practice tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Ice Box Skating Complex in Jenkins Township. All practices at the Ice Box are open to the public.

Murley is expected to be in the lineup on Wednesday as the Penguins visit the Norfolk Admirals (7:15 p.m. start). Following Wednesday's game, the Penguins return home to host the Philadelphia Phantoms on Friday (7:05 p.m. start) and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday (7:05 p.m. start).

Approximately 300 tickets are still available for Friday's game and over 400 tickets are available for Saturday's game. Individual game tickets for the Penguins' 2003-04 season are now on sale and can be purchased at the Wachovia Arena Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations and telephone outlets.

INJURY UPDATE: Forwards Colby Armstrong and Michal Sivek are both out indefinitely. Armstrong has a hairline fracture of the right fibula and is expected to be out approximately three to four weeks, while Sivek fractured the ring finger on his left hand and will be out approximately four to six weeks. Both players were injured in the second period of Friday's 3-2 loss to Syracuse.
