Providence Bruins News Release
Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that defenseman Bryan Miller has been released from his Professional Tryout Agreement. With the move, the P-Bruins have 24 players on their roster, including 14 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.
Miller, 26, leaves Providence after going scoreless in six games since his March 4 recall. He returns to the ECHL's Alaska Aces, where he ranks second among team defensemen with 33 points, including nine goals and 24 assists in 54 games. The blue-liner has five multiple-point games on the year for the Aces and he tallied points in seven straight games from November 22 to December 6, 2008, totaling 11 points. Prior to joining Alaska, Miller began the season with the AHL's Peoria Rivermen, tallying two assists in three games.
A fifth-year professional, Miller has previous AHL experience with the Albany River Rats and Lowell Devils, in addition to ECHL time spent with the Trenton Titans. In his career, the undrafted native of Wayne, New Jersey, has 105 points (23g, 82) in 200 games. He appeared in his 200th professional game for Providence on March 15 against the Lowell Devils. Before turning pro, Miller spent four seasons on the back-end for the Boston University Terriers, notching 88 points (20g, 68a) in 153 contests.
