
P-Bruins host two games this weekend

The Providence Bruins begin the week in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with their 29-24-10-3 record (71 points). The Black and Gold is just one point behind the third place Worcester IceCats. Head Coach Scott Gordon's team will play three games this week, all on the weekend, and all against division rivals. The action gets underway at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday, March 19 at 7:05 p.m., when the Bruins face off with the Springfield Falcons. They visit the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday night at 7:35 p.m., before returning home to host the Portland Pirates on Sunday, March 21 at 4:05 p.m.
Center Brad Boyes, who was acquired last Tuesday by the Boston Bruins from the San Jose Sharks, made his P-Bruins debut on Friday. He picked up his first points as a Bruin in Saturday's 4-0 win at Albany, notching a goal and two assists. The 21-year-old native of Mississauga, Ontario ranks fourth in AHL scoring with 26-37-63 totals in 64 games overall. He has now played three games as a Bruin, while playing 61 with the Cleveland Barons. He also made his NHL debut on March 7 with San Jose. Boyes will be a guest on "Providence Bruins Weekly Presented by National City Mortgage" this week. The show airs on WSKO AM-790, The Score, on Tuesday, March 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
This week's edition of "Providence Bruins Weekly Presented by National City Mortgage" will also feature Providence Bruins Head Coach Scott Gordon and Joe McDonald of the Providence Journal. This week's featured guest in the "Providence Bruins Alumni" segment will be Boston Bruins All-Star right wing Glen Murray. Murray was a member of the P-Bruins' inaugural 1992-93 team, and recently played in his second consecutive NHL All-Star Game.
This is the final week for bidding on the Providence Bruins' Dunkin' Donuts warm-up jerseys. The jerseys are being auctioned online on the team's website, www.providencebruins.com. The auction concludes at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 19. All proceeds from the auction will be donated by Providence Bruins Charities and Dunkin' Donuts to the Hasbro Children's Hospital.
