
McCarthy and Tselios at Friendly\'s this evening for Family Fun Night

Springfield, MA - Springfield Falcons defensemen Jeremiah McCarthy and Nikos Tselios will be at the Friendly's Restaurant at 21 Southampton Road in Westfield from 5 to 7 pm tonight for the latest Family Fun Night. Screech, the Falcons lovable mascot, will also be present at the event. A portion of the sales from each Family Fun Night benefit the Jennifer Ferraro Foundation and Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc.
McCarthy has registered more points in a Springfield uniform than any defenseman this season with 14 (5g, 9a). The Boston native leads the Falcons in games played, skating 65 contests for the club this season. On February 18th, McCarthy scored on goal and then assisted on another during the final two minutes of regulation to lead the Falcons from a two-goal deficit to a 3-3 tie against the Hartford Wolf Pack. The current season is McCarthy's sixth in professional hockey.
Tselios has recorded 11 points (4g, 7a) in 61 games this season. The native of Oak Park, Illinois native leads Springfield blueliners with 95 penalty minutes this season. Tselios' first goal as a Falcon tied the game in an eventual 3-3 deadlock versus Hartford on November 1st. Tselios was selected in the first round (22nd overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Jennifer Ferraro Foundation was established in memory of Jennifer Ferraro, who lost her courageous battle with stomach cancer in November 2002. The foundation assists patients with stomach and other cancers at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, and Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Her husband, Chris, and brother-in-law, Peter, play for Springfield and serve as Co-Captains of the team.
Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc. supports local children's charities throughout Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut. In the past seven years, Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc. has donated over $350,000 to the community.
