
Stutzel recalled by Coyotes

Springfield, MA â The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that rookie left wing Mike Stutzel has been recalled by the Phoenix Coyotes, their National Hockey League affiliate. The Falcons also announced the signing of center Garrett Prosofsky to a professional tryout agreement.
Stutzel, 25, leads Springfield rookies in goals (11) and points (24) in 59 games played this season. The native of Victoria, British Columbia collected three assists in the Falcons' 6-5 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday. Stutzel registered the first hat trick of his professional career in a 6-2 victory against the Worcester IceCats on December 5.
Stutzel posted 92 points (49g, 43a) in 126 games over four campaigns at Northern Michigan University (CCHA). Last season, he led the Wildcats with 27 goals and ranked second on the team with 42 points in 41 games. The 6'2", 205-pound Stutzel was signed by the Coyotes as a free agent on April 10, 2003. Today's transaction marks the first NHL recall of his career.
Prosofsky, 23, leads the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones in goals (22), assists (28), and points (50) in 53 games played this season. The 5'11", 190-pound native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan scored one goal in three games with the Cleveland Barons (AHL) last season. Prosofsky was the the Philadelphia Flyers' sixth selection (5th round, 139th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He is a younger brother of Tyler Prosofsky who skated three games for the Falcons during the 1998-99 season.
Prosofsky will join the Falcons in time for the club's contest versus the Lowell Lock Monsters at the Springfield Civic Center on Tuesday.
