P-Bruins Fall to Wolf Pack 4-0

Hartford, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack 4-0 Saturday evening at the Hartford Civic Center. The P-Bruins are now 28-22-1-2 on the season, 59 points and in fourth place in the Atlantic Division.

The Wolf Pack got out to a 3-0 lead scoring three times in the first period. At the 2:04 mark of the opening period, Chad Wiseman got past the P-Bruins defenseman and took a shot from the left face off, which went off the far post and into the net. The Wolf Pack scored their second goal at the 8:24 mark when Alexander Giroux scored off of his own rebound. Hartford made the score 3-0 at the 17:13 mark when Lee Falardeau backhanded the puck through the five hole of Providence goaltender Brian Eklund. The Wolf Pack went into the first intermission leading 3-0.

The Wolf Pack added a fourth goal at the 15:21 mark of the second period. Ivan Baranka held the puck at the left point and worked it halfway down the boards to Colby Genoway. Genoway fed Nigel Dawes in between the circles and he blasted the puck past Eklund and into the net. Hartford went into the second period leading 4-0. After a scoreless third period the Wolf Pack went on to win by the same score.

Eklund stopped 33 of 37 shots for the P-Bruins, while Robert Gherson earned his first AHL shutout stopped 18 of 18 for the Wolf Pack. The P-Bruins were 0 for 4 on the power play, while Hartford was 0 for 5 on the man-advantage.
