
P-Bruins Fall to Sound Tigers 4-1

Bridgeport, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-1 Saturday evening at the Arena at Harbor Yard. The P-Bruins got their goal from Levi Nelson. Providence is back in action at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Colborne Poster Night against the Manchester Monarchs.
The Sound Tigers took a 1-0 lead at the 10:28 mark of the opening period. Josh Bailey tallied his first goal of the season, while Mark Katic and Rhett Rakhshani recorded the assists. Bridgeport grabbed a 2-0 advantage at the 16:23 mark. Olivier Labelle netted his first goal of the season, with Trent Campbell picking up the lone assist. The Sound Tigers led 2-0 going into the first intermission.
Providence got on the board at the 9:46 mark of the second period. Kirk MacDonald held the puck halfway up the boards and sent it to the right point for Steven Kampfer. He put a shot on net and the rebound landed on the stick of Nelson, who scored his fourth goal of the season. The Sound Tigers led 2-1 going into the second intermission.
Bridgeport took a 3-1 lead at the 15:38 mark of the third period, while on the power play. Bailey tallied his second goal of the game and the season, with Rakhshani and Brett Motherwell getting the assists. The Sound Tigers finished off the scoring at the 16:08 mark. Robin Figren netted his ninth goal of the season, while Tomas Marcinko and Michael Haley had the assists. The Sound Tigers went onto the 4-1 victory.
Nolan Schaefer stopped 24 of 28 shots for the P-Bruins, while Nathan Lawson made 36 saves for the Sound Tigers. The P-Bruins were 0-for-3 on the power play and 1-for-2 on the penalty kill.
Providence is back at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday for Colborne Poster Night at 4:05 p.m. against the Monarchs.
