Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... Jeff Frazee stopped all 24 shots he faced to collect his second shutout of the season as he backstopped the Albany Devils to a 2-0 win over the Rochester Americans tonight at The Blue Cross Arena. The Amerks have now gone scoreless in back-to-back games against the Devils, having dropped a 4-0 decision to their intrastate rivals in the previous meeting between the two teams. With the loss, the Amerks fall to 10-13-1-0 and have now lost seven of the last nine games.

Louis Robitaille (1+0) and Adam Henrique (1+0) each tallied single goals for Albany, with Robitaille's proving to be the eventual game-winner. Rochester netminder Jacob Markstrom turned away 21 saves in the losing effort.

Albany's first goal came with just minutes remaining in the opening period. Robitaille ripped one top shelf past Markstrom for his first of the season at 16:24. Michael Swift (0+1) and Nathan Perkovich (0+1) picked up the helpers.

The Amerks were unable to answer back, and the Devils extended their lead with less than two minutes remaining in the matchup. Rob Davison (0+1) dished Henrique the puck, and Henrique then fired it into the empty Rochester net for his sixth of the season to make the final decision 2-0.

Rochester remains home on Wednesday, December 8th as former Amerk bench boss Randy Cunneyworth and the Hamilton Bulldogs return to The Blue Cross Arena for the first of back-to-back tilts between the North Division rivals. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be the fourth of 10 scheduled meetings between the two teams this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet Channel 26.
