
P-Bruins Fall To Sound Tigers 3-2

Bridgeport, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 3-2 Saturday evening at the Arena at Harbor Yard. The P-Bruins got their goals from Dan Ryder and Matt Marquardt. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday for a Family Game versus the Hartford Wolf Pack at 4:05 p.m.
After a scoreless opening period, the P-Bruins took a 1-0 advantage at the 13:27 mark of the second period. Jeff Penner sent the puck from the point behind the net to Jordan Knackstedt. He found Ryder in the slot who tallied his fourth goal of the season. Eighteen seconds later the Sound Tigers tied the game at one. Jon Sim netted his eighth goal of the season, while Andrew MacDonald and Trevor Smith recorded the assists. Bridgeport took its first lead of the game at the 19:39 mark, while on the power play. Junior Lessard scored his 12th goal of the season, with Jamie Fraser and Sim grabbing the assists. The Sound Tigers took a 2-1 advantage into the second intermission.
The Sound Tigers took a 3-1 advantage at the 13:05 mark of the third period. Dustin Kohn tallied his fourth goal of the season, while Jeremy Colliton and Mark Wotton picked up the assists. Providence pulled back within a goal at the 18:49 mark. Mikko Lehtonen sent the puck towards the net where is was tipped in by Marquardt. Providence was unable to get another goal and fell 3-2.
Kevin Nastiuk stopped 27 of 30 shots for the P-Bruins, while Nathan Lawson made 28 saves for the Sound Tigers. The P-Bruins were 0-for-5 on the power play and 7-for-8 on the penalty kill.
