PHILADELPHIA - Peter Regin scored twice in the shootout, including the game-winner in the sixth round, to give the Binghamton Senators a 2-1 shootout win over the Philadelphia Phantoms on Saturday night at the Wachovia Spectrum. The evening's result puts the Phantoms eight points back of the Senators in the East Division playoff race while continuing to hold three games in hand.

The only scoring in the game was a pair of power play goals in the second period. Rob Sirianni put the Phantoms on the board first with a tip-in of a feed from Jared Ross 2:58 into the frame. That was followed up by a power play goal by Ilya Zubov a short time later, at 6:05.

The game was scoreless through the third period and overtime, setting the stage for Philadelphia's second shootout in its last three games. The Phantoms started out strong, taking a 2-0 lead through the first two rounds on goals by Ross and Sirianni. But Jeff Glass slammed the door after that, stoning Philadelphia's next four shooters. Regin and Denis Hamel scored to even things up, setting the stage for Regin's winner in the sixth frame.

Scott Munroe made 30 saves on 31 shots faced and earned the game's second star. Glass turned aside 21 of 22, including four shots in overtime, to earn the win.

The Phantoms are on the road in Albany on Sunday and Binghamton on Wednesday before returning home for a three-game homestand next week, with a game against Toronto on Friday and a pair against Grand Rapids on Saturday and Sunday.

There are just six regular season games remaining at the Wachovia Spectrum. Adult tickets are just $10 and kids tickets just $5 for the remainder of the 2008-09 season. Tickets are going fast for the final game on Friday, April 10 against the Hershey Bears. Tickets are available through ComcastTIX at 1-800-298-4200, at the Wachovia Complex box office or online at Phantomshockey.com.
