LOWELL, Mass. - Jeff Frazee made 43 saves and recorded his third shutout of the year as the Lowell Devils blanked the Worcester Sharks, 3-0, Saturday night at the Tsongas Arena. It was the second night in a row that Frazee turned aside 43 shots to help the Devils close the gap to three points for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.

Rod Pelley opened the scoring for the Devils at 9:55 of the first period with his 15th goal of the season. Vladimir Zharkov dug the puck out of the near corner of the Worcester zone and fed Pelley on the near circle, where he took a step and lifted a backhander into the top right corner.

At 9:34 of the second frame, Nicklas Bergfors put Lowell up 2-0 as he led a 2-on-1 up ice and tracked down his own blocked shot to deposit his 19th goal of the year.

Jon DiSalvatore gave the Devils some breathing room 6:18 into the third period as he tipped Matt Spiller's point shot down and under the pads of Thomas Greiss. It was DiSalvatore's 18th marker for Lowell and his team-leading 47th point of the season.

The Devils' penalty kill was perfect for the third consecutive game, going 6-for-6 in the contest.

The Lowell Devils finish their three-game homestand on Tuesday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m versus the Manchester Monarchs.
