Albany, NY - The Providence Bruins fell to the Albany River Rats 2-1 Saturday evening at the Pepsi Arena. The P-Bruins got their lone goal from Kris Versteeg.

After a scoreless opening period, the River Rats took a 1-0 lead at the 11:31 mark of the second period. Ben Guite took a shot from the right face off circle and the puck went off of Providence netminder Jordan Sigalet and into the net. Pat Dwyer and Kyle Cumiskey had the assists. Albany went up 2-0 at the 14:42 mark. The puck was free right outside the crease and poked into the net by Scott Kelman. Kevin Estrada and Johnny Boychuk tallied the assists. Towards the end of the second period it looked like the River Rats would take the 3-0 lead, but the Albany goal was waved off and instead goaltender interference called against River Rat defenseman Jeff Finger.
