P-Bruins Continue Road Trip Roll, Beat Americans 4-1

Providence Bruins News Release
Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins continue to look strong on this road trip, defeating the Rochester Americans 4-1. It was a solid team effort, with all four goals being scored by different skaters and big plays from both offense and defense.
It was a slow first period, with both teams struggling to produce sustained offense. Extensive whistles kept either team from getting into a flow and as a result, it was scoreless after the first 20 minutes of play.
Both team managed to get their feet under them for the second period. Rochester was given two consecutive penalties, giving Providence time to build momentum on the power play. Alexander Khokhlachev finished an Austin Czarnik feed on the power play to give the P-Bruins a 1-0 lead. Colin Miller was also credited with an assist.
Brandon Defazio doubled the lead with 0:29 left to play in the period when he managed to sweep in a backhand from his knees. Chris Breen and Brian Ferlin picked up the helpers.
Rochester fought back and scored just 0:10 later. An awkward bounce off of the end boards set Bailey up with an open net. The Americans cut the Providence lead to 2-1 heading into the third period.
Anton Blidh made it a two goal game once again 2:44 into the third. Colby Cave stick handled into the offensive zone and beat his defender to give Blidh a centering pass, whose quick backhander went five-hole on Ullmark.
Jeremy Smith looked strong in net including three big penalty kills. Smith turned away 36 of 37 shots he faced tonight.
Frankie Vatrano finished things out with an empty netter, set up generously by Khokhlachev. This was Vatrano's 33rd goal in 33 games and has recorded at least one point in all eight games he's played in March.
The P-Bruins are back at it Wednesday March 23rd against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Providence will be back home at the Dunk Saturday, April 2nd against the Hershey Bears.
