Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack have acquired 17-year-old defenseman Andrew Perrott and a 3rd round pick in 2019 (SBY) from the London Knights in exchange for overage forward Kevin Hancock.

The young rearguard has suited up in 22 games this season for the Western Conference leading Knights, tallying 5 assists. He played 62 games last year scoring 4 times with 5 assists for 9 points in his rookie season.

"Kevin has been an integral part of the team for years, and it's never easy to move a player of his caliber" said Attack General Manager Dale DeGray.

"We are getting a solid young defenseman in return who will be in Owen Sound for multiple seasons and really solidify our blueline. He's going to bring puck moving abilities and a bit of feistiness to the lineup" added DeGray.

Andrew Perrott was drafted in the second round of the 2017 OHL priority draft by the London Knights and has an Owen Sound connection: his father, Nathan Perrott, is a native of the city who had a long career in hockey including stops with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars.

The organization would like to thank Kevin Hancock for his years of service to the club, and wish him all the best in his career. Hancock leaves the Attack ranking 8th all time in goals and points for the club, scoring 99 times across five seasons and adding 147 assists.

Perrott is expected to make his debut tonight in Kitchener tonight. Owen Sound will take on the Rangers tonight at 7 p.m. He will make his home ice debut in Owen Sound on Saturday night when the Attack play host to the North Bay Battalion. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m.
