(Chico, CA June 2nd, 2010) The Chico Outlaws came out strong with two runs in the first two innings, but St. George starting pitcher Raymar Diaz stopped the bleeding and shut down the Outlaws offense the rest of the night, winning 7-2.

Diaz (1-0), making his first start of the year, gave up a single to Blake Gailen to lead off the bottom of the first, and two batters later, Mikael Jova hit a double to bring Gailen home and the first run of the game.

With two outs in the second, Outlaws starting pitcher Mark McLemore (0-1) hit David Ramirez and C.J. Lang with pitches to put two runners on base. Diaz hit a ground ball to third, which was misplayed by Ismael Castro, scoring Ramirez, tying the game at one each.

In the bottom of the second, Castro helped the Outlaws take the lead, 2-1, with a solo homerun, his first of the season.

St. George got two runs in the fifth inning on RBI base hits from Henry Calderon and Jermy Acey, making the score 3-2.

The Roadrunners pulled away in the seventh inning, scoring three unearned runs off McLemore and reliever Josh Dew. The big hit of the inning came off the bat of Roadrunners right fielder Yosvany Almario, who hit a two RBI single to score Diaz and Calderon, making the final tally 7-2.

The Roadrunners advance their record to 3-6, and the Outlaws drop to 8-3 on the year.
