Lopez Masterful in 5-1 Win

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Toros won their second straight game with a 5-1 victory over the Victoria Seals Wednesday.

Starting Pitcher Albie Lopez improved to 2-0 with 6 1/3 masterful innings, allowing just one run that didn't come until the 6th inning. The Seals totaled just 5 hits and a walk off of Lopez while striking out twice.

The Toros got off to and early lead in the 2nd inning after shortstop Ryan Priddy hit his league leading 4th triple of the season and scored after an RBI single by catcher Luis Apodaca.

Rightfielder Victor Ferrante extended his remarkable hit streak to 11 games, which included a double in the 4th inning and a two runner homer in the 6th inning. The longball was his first of the season.

The Tucson bullpen posted 2 2/3 innings of scoreless ball between Jason Hanna, Toby Nordman and Andrew Snowdon.

The win improved Tucson's record to 5-7 and sealed the series victory against Victoria. The Toros will go for the sweep on Thursday.

The Toros and Seals will play the final game of the three game series on Thirsty Thursday, with a 7:00 p.m. first pitch. The game can be heard live on COOL 1450 AM or video streaming over the internet at www.tucsontoros.com.
