South Bend, IN - Baseball America, the "Bible" for serious baseball fans and players recently put out its annual issue of players with the Best Tools in the Majors and throughout minor league baseball. The South Bend Silver Hawks had two players make the list, filling five of the twenty listed categories.

Alberto Gonzales was listed as the best defensive shortstop as voted on by all managers in the Midwest League. Offensively, Gonzalez has been outstanding. Going into action tonight, Gonzalez is hitting .312, with a home run and 27 RBI and has committed just 7 errors on the campaign.

Carlos Gonzales, the other Silver Hawks to make the Best Tools list captured four categories which include: Best batting Prospect, Best Defensive Outfielder, Best Outfield Arm and Most Exciting Player. Gonzales is tied with Alberto Gonzalez for third on the team in batting average at .312. IN July, the Venezuelan native pounded seven long balls, half of his season's total 14 and drove in 21 runs, while hitting .303.

After a quick four game trip to play the Wisconsin Timberrattlers, the Silver Hawks (63-46) return home Saturday for a four game series with the Lansing Lugnuts. Saturday's are Meijer Family Fun Saturday with Sunny 101.5. Fans can pick up a discount voucher at Meijer and receive 4 box seat tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 Pepsi products and a game program for just $24.00. First pitch is slated for 7:00 PM.
