
Ouellette Recalled to Crunch, Solar Bears Sign Hayden Stewart

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that goaltender Martin Ouellette has been recalled by the Syracuse Crunch, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Additionally, the team has agreed to terms with goaltender Hayden Stewart on a Standard Player Contract.
Ouellette, 26, has appeared in 10 games with Orlando this season, going 6-3-1 with a 3.38 goals-against average, a .899 save percentage and one shutout.
Stewart, 24, joins Orlando after beginning the season with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League, where he had gone 1-3-0 with a 2.79 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in four appearances.
The 6-foot-4, 208-pound netminder turned pro last year in a four-game stint with the Cincinnati Cyclones, where he went 2-2-0 with a 3.51 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage.
Prior to turning pro, the Rockford, Illinois native played four seasons of collegiate hockey at Cornell University, where he went 6-7-1 in 22 games and posted a 2.01 goals-against average, a .925 save percentage and three shutouts.
Stewart also played junior hockey for the Muskegon Lumberjacks, Corpus Christi IceRays, Dubuque Fighting Saints and Indiana Ice, recording a cumulative 37-27-5 record with a 3.01 goals against average and a .906 save percentage in 69 junior games. Stewart won a USHL Clark Cup championship with Indiana in 2014.
