Americans and Wichita Make a Three-Player Deal
November 15, 2018 - ECHL (ECHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, made a three player deal today as the Americans acquired forwards Mitch Maloney and Greg Chase from Wichita, in exchange for defenseman Eric Roy.
"It's always tough losing a player who has been with you for a long time like Eric (Roy) has, but that's the business of the game, said Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "We needed some depth up front and these two guys will provide that."
Greg Chase has played in ten games this season and has six points (1 goal and 5 assists). The former Edmonton Oilers draft pick has played in 92 American Hockey League games since the 2015-2016 season and has 26 points.
Mitch Maloney, a resident of Macomb, MI, has played in a total of eight games with Wichita over the past two seasons and has a total of one point. The former Ferris State product had 25 points in 36 games his senior year. He also played one season with Cedar Rapids in the USHL, and two seasons with Port Huron of the North American Hockey League.
Both players are expected to make their Allen debut on Friday night against Tulsa. It's Faith & Family Night in Allen with a live band performing postgame. Call 972-912-1000 for tickets.
