Otters Sweep Doubleheader from the Road Warriors

(EVANSVILLE, Indiana) - b0 The Evansville Otters completed a doubleheader sweep of the Road Warriors on Saturday with a 7-1 win in the afternoon and a 7-5 win during the nightcap at Historic Bosse Field.
Outfielder DeAngelo Mack finished the day 4-for-5, hitting a home run, and reaching base in all seven plate appearances.
The Otters have now won the series from the Road Warriors and improve to 10-2 this season in doubleheaders.
Evansville leapt ahead 3-0 in the very first inning of game two against the Road Warriors. First baseman Nick Schwaner hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly as Mack followed a few batters later with a two run home run to right field. The home run landed on the Landshark Party Deck in right-center field and was Mack's sixth home run of the season.
The Road Warriors battled back from the three run deficit though. They would score a run in the second, tie the game with two runs in the third and go ahead on an RBI single from Matt Wright in the fourth.
Down by a run, Evansville also would rally back, by scoring four runs in the fourth inning. After a pair of runners reached base, outfielder Matt Sheely reached on a sacrifice bunt that scored another Otter on a throwing error. With the game tied, infielder Taylor Black hit a two-run go-ahead single and outfielder Luis Uribe tacked on an RBI single a few batters later.
Down 7-4, the Road Warriors fought back for a run in the fifth inning on a solo home run from Mike Schwartz but failed to score again the rest of the night. Reliever David Kubiak pitched a scoreless sixth inning and Patrick Crider struck out the three batters he faced in the ninth for the save.
Evansville improves to 43-46 with the win as the Road Warriors drop to 8-22.
Otters starter Bryce Morrow (8-7) earns the win, allowing five runs (two earned) in 5.0 innings. The loss goes to reliever Kevin McGovern (1-2) after yielding three runs (two earned) in 1.0 innings. The save for Crider was his first since June 20, 2010.
Eight players recorded a hit for the Otters in the win who will look for another victory in their next game on Tuesday at River City. First pitch will be at T.R. Hughes Ballpark will be at 7:05 p.m. CDT.
