SAUGET, Ill. - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, dropped a 4-2 decision to the Gateway Grizzlies on Saturday night at GCS Ballpark.

The Grizzlies scored a pair of runs in the first inning when Jonathan Johnson and Chris McClendon led off with singles, and as they attempted a double steal, both scored when the throw to third was wide.

Gateway extended their advantage to 3-1 in the fourth when Jerod Yakubik walked with two outs and scored on a double to right center by Alex Guthrie.

The Grizzlies added their third unearned run of the game in the sixth when Antone DeJesus led off by reaching second base via error, moving to third on a wild pitch and scoring on a base hit by Jerod Yakubik to extend the lead to 4-1.

The Belters picked up a run in the ninth when Randy Wells doubled and scored on a single up the middle by Jesse Olivar, but could not add to the tally.
