Otters Open Final Weekend Series with Doubleheader vs. Florence

(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - The first place Evansville Otters (52-34) begin a three game series against the Florence Freedom on Friday night.

First pitch is set for 5:35 pm CDT at Historic Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana. Both games are scheduled for seven innings each.

It is Eastland Mall Labor Day Weekend.

The game will be broadcast live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski and color commentator Bill McKeon will have the call beginning at 5:15 pm CDT.

Evansville will now have a doubleheader on Friday against the Florence Freedom. Evansville will have righty Trevor Walch (5-3, 3.94 ERA) in game one and RHP Preston Olson (8-3, 2.78 ERA) in game two. Florence will throw RHP Jorge Marban (4-5, 4.36 ERA) in the opener and LHP Michael O'Neal in the finale.

Evansville won both games of the doubleheader against Windy City on Wednesday but were rained out on Thursday due to unplayable field conditions.

The Otters are 62-63 all time against the Freedom including a 2-0 mark at home this year (June 25-26). Evansville is 3-2 this summer against Florence. This is the sixth and seventh meetings of nine this season.

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Evansville is 14-10 in doubleheaders this season.
