Evansville Otters News Release
EVANSVILLE, IN â A Jonathan Ramirez double keyed a four run second inning, as the Evansville Otters topped the Richmond Roosters 12-5.
Roosters starter Klent Corley went just the first inning-and-a-third as he was lifted, but not before Ramirez double made it 2-0. Evansville would go on to score more in the inning and one in the third before a Kevin Brown Homer in the sixth made it 5-2.
The Otters scored runs in each the bottom of the sixth and seventh to make it 7-2 and appear to have the game in hand. However, the Roosters scored three unearned runs in the top of the eighth to make it 7-5. Evansville shut the door in the bottom half of the inning however, as the Otters exploded for five runs, capped by a Sean Flynn double.
Grant Williams got the win moving his record to 6-0. Bryan Simmering got his third save of the season. Andre Simpson takes the hill for the Otters tomorrow when the Otters take on Kalamazoo. Game time if set for 4:05 at Homer Stryker Field.
