Otters Begin Three Game Series at Lake Erie on Saturday

(AVON, OHIO) - The first place Evansville Otters (40-24) continue a six game roadtrip with the series opener at the Lake Erie Crushers (36-30) on Saturday night.

First pitch is set for 7:05 pm EDT at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, Ohio.

Fans not going to the game can listen live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski will have the call beginning at 6:45 pm EDT, 5:45 pm CDT.

It is Pet Night at the ballpark.

The Otters will have RHP Taylor Dennis (2-1, 5.01 ERA) on the mound against Crushers lefty Matt Rein (0-5, 5.63 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:05 pm CDT.

Dennis will be making his sixth start of the season for the Otters. He is a graduate of nearby USI and is an Evansville, Indiana native.

Evansville enters this series after winning two of three at first place River City including a 12-11 victory over the Rascals last night. The Otters hit a season-high five home runs in the victory.

The Otters are 12-23 all-time against the Lake Erie Crushers. Evansville is 4-2 against Lake Erie this season, winning two of three at each ballpark. This is the seventh of nine meetings between the two teams this season.

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Infielder Phillip Wilson is on a 12 game hitting streak tied for the longest team hit streak this season (J.R. Higley).

Houck has 16 home runs this summer, tied for most in the Frontier League this season. He is also tied for 3rd most in Otters single season franchise history.

The Otters are a Frontier League best 19-11 on the road this season.
