Otters Add Wigle and Kuzmyk, Deal McGuire at OHL Trade Deadline

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have announced that they have made three trades prior to the OHL's trade deadline Thursday afternoon.

Coming to the Erie Otters via trade are forward *Joel Wigle* and defenseman *Jack Kuzmyk*. Right wing *Johnny McGuire* was traded to the Oshawa Generals in exchange for Erie's eighth round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection and Oshawa's fourth round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.

McGuire departs from the Otters after playing in 98 games, accumulating 262 penalty minutes. He was a 12th round pick by the Otters in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.

Wigle (why-gull) was acquired from the Niagara IceDogs in exchange for Sarnia's second round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection and Erie's fourth round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.

The 6-foot-3, 202-pound Wigle has three goals and 12 assists in 39 games with the Otters this season. Born on February 14, 1994 in Brantford, Ont., Wigle has 38 points in 140 games. He was drafted in the second round by the IceDogs in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection. He will wear No. 14 with the Otters.

Kuzmyk (kooz-mick) arrives in Erie from the Sarnia Sting, who receive Kingston's sixth round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection. He will wear No. 21 with the Otters.

The 6-foot-2, 217-pound Kuzmyk has appeared in 202 games in the OHL with Sarnia and Owen Sound, collecting 22 points. He was drafted in the OHL by the Owen Sound Attack in the third round of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection and is a right-handed shot.
