Niagara IceDogs Head Coach and General Manager Marty Williamson announced today that the IceDogs have acquired forward Brendan Perlini and a 6th round pick in 2015 from the Barrie Colts in exchange for forward Mitchell Theoret and a conditional 2nd round pick in 2016. Barrie would only receive the 2nd round pick if Theoret does not play his overage season and leaves Barrie before November 1st.

Perlini is a 6'2", 180 lbs. left winger who was Barrie's first round pick, 16th overall in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, has a goal and an assist in 32 games played so far this season. Perlini spent last season with Detroit Belle Tire U16s where he picked up 44 points in 40 games, playing alongside IceDogs first round pick Aaron Haydon.

Theoret leaves the IceDogs after spending the last 3.5 seasons with the team, picking up 41 goals and 50 assists for 91 points in 216 games as an IceDog.

The entire IceDogs organization would like to welcome Brendan to the IceDogs! They would also like to thank Mitchell for all his contributions in Niagara and wish him all the best in Barrie and beyond!
