PLYMOUTH - Plymouth Whalers general manager and head coach Mike Vellucci announced today the acquisition of 19-year old left wing Sebastian Uvira - along with the Kitchener Rangers' fifth round pick in the 2013 Ontario Hockey League Draft - from the Oshawa Generals in exchange for 19-year-old defenseman Simon Karlsson.

Karlsson was taken by Plymouth 90th overall in the 2012 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft. In 34 games with the Whalers this season, Karlsson (from Malmo, Sweden) scored two goals with nine assists and was +1 in 34 games.
Uvira is expected to report to Plymouth today and will be in the lineup this weekend when the Whalers host Brampton on Friday and Erie on Saturday at Compuware Arena. Both games start at 7:05 pm.
The Ontario Hockey League Final Deadline concluded today at noon.
